Below are some of our frequently asked questions and comprehensive answers to get you started.

Can you tell me more about what I will experience?

Every Retreat Experience is significantly different from the previous one. At each retreat, we experience a powerful move that defies explanation. While nothing about the retreat or the experience is a secret, there are simply no words to express the awesomeness of it adequately.

How can I get more details?

We release the pertinent and intimate details directly to those registered to attend the retreat. Attendees receive emails and updates leading up to, and 24 hours before the retreat including any necessary pre-retreat assignments.

Each retreat is truly a level of experience and encounters that can best be summed up by the phrase "You Had to Be There"

Is this a grief retreat?

The Peak is not a grief retreat—it is a LIFE retreat. While we honor the ongoing journey of grief, our focus is not on staying in the past, but on stepping into what's next. The retreat is about moving forward—reclaiming life, reconnecting with your identity beyond the loss, and rediscovering joy, strength, and purpose. Grief may naturally surface during the retreat, and when it does, we will hold space for it with gentleness and care. But our anchor is life. Not survival—revival.

Is this a Christian retreat?

Women from all faith backgrounds are welcome. While this is not a grief retreat specifically branded as Christian, it is most definitely a Kingdom-centered one—and the Kingdom is inclusive. We are Christians, and we recognize that widowhood does not discriminate based on belief systems. Our doors and hearts are open to every widow who feels led to attend. For those who desire it, there will be space in our one-on-one sessions to explore or incorporate personal Christian faith and beliefs. Regardless of background, we carry each woman in our thoughts and prayers from the moment she registers. We seek divine guidance to help meet the unique needs of each attendee and to create space for hope, healing, and forward movement.

Will I have my own room?

For The Peak Widows Retreat, rooms are double occupancy. This is intentional, as it helps foster sisterhood and connection while ensuring that no one feels alone during the retreat.

We also take great care in selecting beautiful, spacious accommodations so that even in a shared room, you’ll have the space to breathe, reflect, and fully enjoy your retreat experience.

Can you accommodate special dietary needs?

We do our best to accommodate minor food allergies as well as vegan and vegetarian diets. If you have specific dietary needs, please be sure to fill out the appropriate section of your registration form so we can plan accordingly.

For attendees with more restrictive or complex dietary needs, we recommend bringing any essential food items to ensure you have everything you need during the retreat.

Please note that we are unable to make accommodations without advance notice.

What if I feel a little nervous or unsure?

What you're feeling is completely normal, and you won't be the only one arriving with similar emotions—nervous, unsure, and even a little afraid. Stepping into something new, especially after a profound loss, takes courage. My team and I are intentional about creating ease before you even arrive. That’s why we include a pre-retreat call with all attendees—to help settle hearts, ease nerves, and begin building the beautiful connections that await. Rather than our retreats feeling like strangers gathering, our heart’s desire is for it to feel like sisters uniting.

Will I have downtime?

Our retreats are intentionally designed to provide a balance of rest, relaxation, exploration, and FUN! While this is not a vacation, we incorporate vacation-inspired elements to ensure you have time to unwind, reflect, and enjoy your surroundings.

You'll have space to breathe, recharge, and connect—whether that means quiet moments alone, meaningful conversations with fellow attendees, or exploring the beauty of our retreat location.

Is my deposit or registration refundable?

What if I want to come early or stay late to enjoy the island?

We encourage this! Isla Mujeres is a stunning destination with beautiful beaches, incredible food, and plenty to explore. If you choose to arrive early or extend your stay after the retreat, you’ll be responsible for your accommodations and transportation outside of the retreat dates.
