For too long, the narrative around Black marriage has been deeply misrepresented and underrepresented. Media and culture consistently highlight brokenness — single-parent households, fractured families, and instability — suggesting that healthy, loving, and thriving Black marriages are rare or nonexistent.
But we know another reality exists.
We know marriages that are rooted in partnership, legacy, friendship, laughter, intimacy, vision, and deep commitment. We know couples who are building beautiful lives together and doing the work to sustain what they’ve built.
And yet, many thriving couples have still been conditioned to believe that support, investment, and marriage retreats are only necessary when something is going wrong.
That marriage retreats are antibiotics — reserved for crisis, conflict, or repair, however...
